Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, we are facing a shortage of natural gas resources. In recent months, gas prices have risen quite rapidly and we are facing an energy crisis, the duration of which we do not know. Therefore, LPG is an alternative energy source that we - LPG Energy - can offer to design, install and maintain.
LPG is known as a low-carbon fuel. Low CO2 emissions will continue to be widely used as an important source of clean energy!
We suggest switching to LPG as an alternative fuel to natural gas, which price is rising.
We represent the Japanese manufacturer KAGLA in Lithuania. It is a leading manufacturer of LPG vaporizers and related equipments for better and safer gas operation.
Installation of LPG system
For installations that are too large to use NG and have sufficient installation space, it is reasonable to consider an LPG system. In addition to LPG supply facilities (storage tanks, etc.), it is necessary to install surge tanks of a size corresponding to the amount of gas consumed in order to ensure a stable supply of LPG. Therefore, although it is an alternative measure, it requires some significant installation space and cost.
If the prospects for normalization of natural gas prices are uncertain, if installation sites are limited, or if an alternative fuel is urgently needed, we recommend a full transition to an LPG system. Most natural gas plants use high-pressure, large-diameter pipelines that are not suitable for use with LPG. Thus, in most cases, pipeline design appropriate for LPG use is required for conversion to LPG. Also, if the combustion equipment is not regulated for both NG and LPG, it may be necessary to change to combustion equipment for LPG. However, the advantages of LPG conversion are lower equipment costs and space savings due to simple configuration, as well as a greater sense of stability due to the fact that LPG is managed directly with dedicated equipment. If a stable supply of LPG cannot be expected in recent years and the price of NG is expected to continue to rise, a full transition to an LPG system would be beneficial. Especially if the alternative fuel is in urgent demand, LPG equipment, which is mass-produced as a standard product and delivered quickly, is more suitable.
